In this session, Haya Al-Mouil spoke about her listening journey from Aleppan music and back to it, about her personal experience, and about what she discovered along the way regarding the distinctiveness of music in Aleppo. She also shared with us a listening selection of the most prominent musical forms that Aleppans have long listened to, performed, and developed over the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
