Beirut, O Beirut (1975), the first film in Maroun Bagdadi's career, captures Beirut at a critical historical moment on the eve of the civil war. It follows the city as a space where political and social tensions intensify, and where individual stories intersect with a collective fate left hanging, revealing the underlying tensions that would later lead to war.
